Description of Service

Bradbury House is a care home for 41 elderly residents, registered by, the Commission for Social Care Inspectorate (C.S.C.I.). This purpose built-house is situated in a peaceful location in Old Beaconsfield. It is within walking distance of the Old Town centre and local shops. Bradbury House has its own attractive landscaped garden, with numerous pathways providing wheelchair access to all garden facilities, such as the summerhouse, patio and pond. Accommodation Bedrooms: The Home has 39 en-suite rooms, built in four wings, and one two- bedroom flat for a couple. All room sizes exceed the National Minimum Standard. The residents have exclusive use of their rooms and are welcome to bring personal items and any of their own furniture that can be safely accommodated in their rooms. All rooms are centrally heated and are connected to a call system with privacy locks on doors and a lockable facility to secure valuables and personal items. Social Rooms: There is a large lounge and a separate dining room on the ground floor and each of the four wings has its own sitting room and kitchen. There is central heating throughout. Our residents are encouraged to use the communal rooms; however, those who prefer to stay in their own rooms may do so. Admission Prospective residents may make an appointment to be shown around the Home. During this visit they can, if they wish, be assessed as to their suitability for living at Bradbury House. There is always a month's trial period for a new resident. The Home is registered to accommodate 41 persons within the registration category of Frail and the Elderly. Activity Centre Our purpose built Activity Centre was completed in 2007. The centre is available for our residents' use and for day care residents from the surrounding community. Our aim is provide social, physical and entertaining activities that will help all our residents to be stimulated and more importantly take an interest in life. We have a full range of activities in the main part of the building ranging from quizzes to card making, jam making to glass painting. Residents will also be able to cook in our purpose built kitchen which is part of a more homely area with comfortable chairs and a fire. The Therapy room is fitted out with the equipment for hairdressing and to allow visiting qualified practitioners to provide services such as chiropody, manicuring, simple physiotherapy and aromatherapy. To meet the needs of those who use computers, the internet and email communication, a "Computer Centre" with a broadband connection has been installed. Our lovely garden room brings the outdoors inside and is a sanctuary for quiet moments, to reflect, read or just to watch the wild life visiting our garden, patio and pond areas
