Purpose of BANO

 

To ensure that every person diagnosed with a neurological condition in Buckinghamshire will have access to high quality, joined-up services and good information from first symptoms, throughout their life.

 

Objectives of BANO

  • To work together on common neurological issues and collectively to influence Health and Social Services at both strategic and delivery levels in Buckinghamshire on issues relating to implementation of the National Service Framework for Long Term Conditions (Neurological)
  • To speak for the neurological community within Buckinghamshire with an authoritative and united voice
  • To facilitate user and carer involvement in commissioning and the planning of services
  • To build a broad base of membership from a range of neurological voluntary (third) sector organisations and people with neurological conditions and their families
  • To increase general awareness and understanding of neurological conditions and of the lives of people affected by them
  • To seek and respond to joint education and awareness-raising opportunities with Health and Social Care staff and with other similar Alliances
