N Gauge Layouts

There are 4 'N' gauge layouts in various stages in the main Clubroom.

Dexter.

This American layout has been seen quite often on the local exhibition circuit and will eventually be mothballed to make way for another exhibition layout currently in the planning phase.

Located somewhere in middle America, this layout was constructed to give a generic feel of the American system and its contact with everyday life.

Our aim was to have a layout that allowed the running of all types of locomotives and Rolling Stock.

The layout is split into two levels and three main sections - Grants Pass, Dexter and Madison Ridge.

The layout is a clever conversion of an original American "HO" layout belonging to the Club, that has retained much of the original basic scenery but avoided being very obviously a recycled layout

Modular.

3 Club members have started to build 'N' gauge modules. These modules conform to the 'N' standard and have been run in conjuction with the Wokingham Group at exhibitions held both by the Club and the Workingham group.

Test-track.

This track runs round the whole of the Clubroom at a height of about 5ft 6ins above the floor. As the Clubroom is 30ft by 15ft there is ample scope for running very long trains.
