The Buckinghamshire Fungus Group encourages the study and recording of fungi in the county. It organises a range of field meetings and indoor events, and welcomes anyone with an interest in fungi.
Meetings programme for 2010
For all meetings please contact Derek Schafer (fungi@bucksfungusgroup.org.uk) in advance for details of meeting points and to check for any changes to the programme.
Unless indicated otherwise, forays are led by Derek Schafer, start at 10am and finish around 1pm.
Sun 5 Sep: Workshop 9.30 am at Ashridge (National Trust). Joint event with the Herts & Beds Fungi Group.
Sun 19 Sep: Watlington Hill National Trust. A joint foray with the Oxfordshire Fungus Recording Group and the Friends of Watlington Hill.
Tue 21 - Sat 25 Sep: Forest of Dean. Residential foray in Parkend, Forest of Dean, jointly with the Leicestershire Fungi Study Group and the Herts & Beds Fungi Group.
Sat 2 Oct: Mushroom Magic. Exhibition as part of the Family Autumn Wildlife Event at the Aylesbury County Museum.
Sun 3 Oct: Naphill Common Joint foray with the Friends of Naphill Common.
Sat 9 Oct: Millfield Wood. A public BBOWT foray jointly with the BFG.
Sun 10 Oct: Cliveden (National Trust). Guest Mycologist Martyn Ainsworth will be joining us for our visit to the grounds of this magnificent mansion house (now a luxury hotel).
Sun 24 Oct: Margaret Holden Memorial Fungus Foray, Ashridge. Joint foray with the Herts. Fungi Group, the Herts Natural History Society, and the National Trust.
Sat 30 Oct: Langley Park (Bucks CC), a public foray with Bucks. Country Parks.
Sun 31 Oct: Greensands Foray. Joint foray with the Herts & Beds Fungi Group. We will be holding our regular foray in the greensands ridge, this year at the Rushmere Estate.
Thur 4 Nov: Penn Waxcap Foray. The areas around the Church and Village Green at Penn Street are excellent sites for waxcap fungi.
Sun 7 Nov: Wotton House Estate
Sun 19 Dec: College Wood (Woodland Trust). Attendees are welcome to join us after the foray for a bowl of soup at Duck End House, Whitchurch.
