Code of Practice on Funding and Procurement
The Compact Steering Group isn't a source of funding or advice in itself. Its role has been to develop a code of good practice on funding and procurement. This code sets out undertakings for both sectors that will improve the working relationship between voluntary organisations and statutory funders, and help achieve greater efficiency for both sectors. For example, by:
- Moving to 3-year funding agreements where possible;
- Setting minimum periods for notification of decisions
- Reducing the burden of monitoring reports
It is based on the national Compact code, but changed to reflect local views. The draft code was issued for consultation twice, before being finally agreed in 2006. All members of the Compact Steering Group have now signed up to the code, and are embedding the commitments within their own organisations as well as promoting it more widely.
You can view the Code in the documents section of this website.
