Benefit Fraud
FRAUD
Aylesbury Vale District Council has successfully prosecuted an Aylesbury man for fraudulently claiming more than £1600 of benefits from the council. He has been ordered to repay all the wrongly claimed money and to do 50 hours of community service.
The whole community suffers when individuals commit benefit fraud. Not only does it reduce the money available to those with a genuine entitlement, but is also increases the burden on the tax payer.
Aylesbury Vale has a free, confidential benefit fraud hotline which members of the public can use to report benefit fraud. The number is 01296 585570.
