Plots sold at Valley Road and Cryers Hill junction without planning consent

An investment company is marketing the farmland opposite the Medical Centre at the junction of Valley Road and Cryers Hill.

The Bucks Free Press reported that Wycombe District Council has set aside £250,000 to help finance a Compulsory Purchase Order on the land at Cryers Hill. This is an ideal site to 'test the water' as the land would eventually be sold on to the National Trust. This woul enable WDC to recover the monies paid out and not burden the taxpayer.

The Hughenden Valley Residents Association is extremely concerned and will do everything in its power to strenuously oppose any potential development and prevent incremental urbanisation.

There is now a permanent Article 4 for the land. In simple terms Article 4 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 means the owners cannot erect fences, walls or other means of enclosure, nor can they use the land for holding a market or motor car and motorcycle racing.

This acquisition together with the other sites locally is causing much consternation amongst District and County Councillors as well as Aylesbury MP, David Liddington. We have had a meeting with Mr Liddington to discuss ways in which he can draw attention in the House of Commons to this contentious problem in the Green Belt and AONB.
