Plots sold at Denner Hill without planning consent

Updated 25 July 2005

An investment company is marketing farmland at Denner Hill (up Warrendene Road towards Prestwood and Great Missenden) You may have seen the ‘For Sale’ boards along Hampden Road (near the Prestwood Picnic area). PropertySpy has bought 150 acres for land speculation and have divided it up into plots.

From 25th June 2005 there is an Article 4 for the land. In simple terms Article 4 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 means the owners cannot erect fences, walls or other means of enclosure, nor can they use the land for holding a market or motor car and motorcycle racing.

The Hughenden Valley Residents Association is extremely concerned and will do everything in its power to strenuously oppose any potential development and prevent incremental urbanisation.

This acquisition together with the other sites locally is causing much consternation amongst District and County Councillors as well as Aylesbury MP, David Liddington. We have had a meeting with Mr Liddington to discuss ways in which he can draw attention in the House of Commons to this contentious problem in the Green Belt and AONB.

Land speculators may get Compulsory Purchase Order

"HUGHENDEN VALLEY POSSESSES LANDSCAPE OF EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY THE BEST UNSPOILT VALLEY IN THE VICINITY OF HIGH WYCOMBE" - Extract from Government Inspector's Report (1988) to the Secretary of State for the Environment.

As Hughenden Valley lies in the Green Belt and Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty it is therefore safeguarded by both local and national policies. It is wise to seek expert planning advice from the Planning Department of Wycombe District Council in Queen Victoria Street, tel: 01494 461000
