What if you pay a trader to dispose of your rubbish?

To be able to dispose of your rubbish, a trader will usually need to have a Waste Carrier Number and take the rubbish to an authorised site, where they will pay a charge.   The law now requires that you (even householders) check they are registered by calling the Environment Agency on 08708 506 506 or visit www.environment-agency.gov.uk/publicregisters

This includes builders and other people that work on your house who remove building and demolition waste.

To help reduce illegal dumping, please complete and send the on-line form when you commission a trader to dispose of waste on your behalf. If your rubbish is then dumped illegally without you knowing we may be able to identify who is responsible.
