Lacey Green windmill is the oldest smock mill in the country with wooden machinery dating from around 1650 (a smock mill has a structure built of wood). It was in use until around 1915, but by the late 1960s was close to collapse. Since 1971 it has been restored back to working order. Members of the Restoration Committee now maintain the mill and open it to the public.

See "About Us" page for details of where the windmill is, and when it is open to visitors.
