We are pleased to say that we had a good turn out for the recent Open Days at Marlow and would like to welcome all new bowlers and hope that you will enjoy the benefits of bowling at Marlow for many years to come.
Marlow Bowls Club has been representative of mainstream bowls in Bucks for 90 years and as the club approaches its 91st birthday in 2010 we all hope that the sun god(dess) will shine upon us this summer !
We have now included a forms page on the site for new members to fill in and complete. Firstly click on Club Competitions and Forms in the left hand index of the home page then at the top of the next list click on "Forms", here you will currently find the Membership Application Form and the Club Competitions form. You then click on whichever form is required, then print off complete and return by post to the address at the bottom of the form.
If you wish to find out about the County matches you have entered this summer please go to the Links page on this site and click on Bucks Bowls and look for Mens or Womens Competitions.
You can also find out the Bucks County League Bowls and Bucks Cup fixtures on the same website.
Marlow is famous for its outdoor bowling season which commences mid-April through the summer until mid-September, and the idyllic setting is a treat for long established and new bowlers alike.
Once the summer has passed then the extremely popular short-mat bowling season begins, as the superbly equipped clubhouse becomes haven for a winter session of indoor bowling.
There are several pages available for your perusal and mostly pertaining to bowls of course.
-
The Club Fixtures page gives you a layout of all the club fixtures throughout the 2010 season and when possible a breakdown of the teams selected and directions etc.
-
The Noticeboard gives you notice of various announcements and forthcoming events, with a facility to add your own comment to each event, and is probably the best page to look at on a regular basis, particularly pre-season.
-
The Discussions page is purely for issues to be dissected by club members, with some diplomacy of course.
-
The Photo Album is available for all bowls related pictures and club members are invited to submit any snaps for inclusion. Preferably by email.
-
The Useful Links page provides websites that should be of interest to most of you. Although we cannot vouch for the weather site too accurately ?
-
The Club Competitions page currently shows blank pages for the upcoming competitions for the 2010 season, for news on competitions please refer to the competition sheets displayed in the clubhouse.
-
FAQs this is a small page where some light hearted snippets in Q&A form can be submitted.
-
Classified Ads page means we can carry adverts from people or businesses and this is currently a free service.
To view the site you can type in one of these website addresses, although the top two are identical and more detailed in content.
www.marlowbowls.co.uk or http://www.bucksinfo.net/marlow-bowls-club-2
http://marlowbowlsclub.clubbz.com
We do hope you enjoy our website and that it provides a good source of information for all current bowling members and for outsiders alike and it may prove the impetus for you to come along and try your hand at this absorbing game in a very pleasant and relaxing environment.
