What We Can Do About Anti-social Behaviour
What We Can Do About Anti-social Behaviour

- Thames Valley Police, with the support of local councils and the Home Office, employs 42 police community support officers (PCSOs) in Bucks. PCSOs are unformed staff with limited powers, including the power to confiscate alcohol and tobacco from those underage.
- PCSOs also patrol in known hotspots of anti-social behaviour. So it is important if you are aware of an area, which is regularly subjected to anti-social behaviour like noise, graffiti or other vandalism that you contact either your local policing team or local authority with the details, as this could result in directing PCSOs to make regular patrols in that particular area.
- Thames Valley Police also has schools officers, whose job is to work with schools and help children understand the consequences of irresponsible actions or dangerous activity.
- Buckinghamshire County Council’s youth services work with young people aged 13 to 19, involving them in programmes, activities and learning provided by the service. They offer a range of personal development opportunities, which enable young people to learn new ways of using their leisure time, acquire new skills, build confidence and self-esteem and take a responsible role in the community. The youth service has a number of partnership agreements and working arrangements, including those with local voluntary youth organisations and Connexions.
