What We Can Do About Underage Drinking

together we can make a safer community in Buckinghamshire

  • Anyone underage caught drinking alcohol will have it confiscated by PCSOs.

  • Trading Standards, part of Buckinghamshire County Council:

    • offer a proof of age card to every 16 year old in the County to enable shopkeepers to ask for proof of age.
    • encourage shopkeepers to ask for proof of age with the confidence that one is available.
    • make covert test purchases using under age volunteers. Shopkeepers and licensees who sell face a fine of up to £1,000.
    • work with PCSOs , ABOs and other police officers to detect under age sales, particularly in areas where anti-social behaviour has been reported
